| Toby and Theo live
in the house in Pilton that was the home of the
Munro family back in the 1870's when Hector Hugh
Munro (Saki) was a boy. Like him and his brothers
and sisters, they love the countryside nearby, now
known as Manning's Pit. They wrote these words for us: "My name is Theo Lawrence and I am 7. I love taking my puppy Louis to Mannings Pit. I love climbing the trees and swimming in the river. In the summer I love having a picnic by the river and lying on my back to watch the clouds. I have always called this Sky TV." "My name is Toby Lawrence and I am 10. I
like going to Mannings Pit with my dog Louis.
I like to stand at the top Of the hill and
practice my cricket bowling down the hill. I
hope that all my trips to Mannings Pit will
pay off and I can help my team ,
Barnstaple and Pilton Cricket club win lots of
games this year. "

Manning's Pit
In Manning's Pit I like to sit
And watch the clouds float by.
I call this watching SKYTV and
Time always flies by.

I see elephants, dragons, racing
cars and Even the odd real plane too. Manning's is where I sit, And imagine all the great things I can do. |
