Your story doesn't have to be in
the style of Saki, or about Manning's Pit, but
it needs to have a spark of originality or
wit, and something relevant to the countryside
and its wildlife.

Story length:
Maximum 3000 words.
Digital entries
Please
send your story as an email attachment
typed in
Times New Roman or Arial, using .doc, .docx or .rtf
format. The attached document should
include the title of the story but there
should be no information about your
identity. Stories
should be typed in a 12pt easily read
font (preferably Times New Roman or
Arial) and double spaced, with each
page numbered consecutively. The title
must be at the top of each page.
Your name, address, and telephone
number must be in the body of the email
along with the title of your story, and
the payment method used. The email
address to which all entries must be
sent is saki@manningspit.com
- this is also the email address to
which any queries can be addressed.
Postal entries
These can be accepted. in
certain circumstances, but digital entries
are preferred. If you wish to submit a
paper entry, please contact us (see email

Judging
The
Judges will make their final decision by
30/09/2021. Prize winners will be
notified shortly afterwards by post and
details will also be posted on our
website
